Marina Bay: What is happening?

By
Marina Bay
The Marina Bay area in Singapore is bustling with construction activities. It is promoted as the future place to explore, exchange and entertain. The commencement of the Integrated Resorts construction has provided the momentum to the Marina Bay area development. In my life, I had not seen so many construction equipments/ machineries congregate at one place like this.

I have listed below some of the projects currently ongoing in and around Marina Bay area:

  • Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resorts

  • Land Transport Authority (LTA)’s MRT Downtown Line Contract 906, carried out by Sembawang Engineers and Constructors

  • Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA)’s Common Services Tunnel (CST) Phase 1B & 2, carried out by Koh Brothers

  • Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA)’s Common Services Tunnel (CST) Phase 3A, carried out by Singapore Piling

  • Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA)’s Rock Mole Removal Works, carried out by Gammon

  • Marina Bay Business and Financial Centre

  • City Developments Limited (CDL)’s Residential Project The Sail @ Marina Bay

  • The 280 metre long Double Helix Bridge, claimed to be the world’s first double helix structure bridge by URA
With Taisei expected to join the Marina Bay area soon for its Landmark Downtown line MRT station, it is going to be a scene of cranes everywhere with the background of the little island’s skyscrapers.
