In the women's doubles, 11th seeded Sania/ Liezel Huber advanced to the second round with an easy win over Neha Uberoi/ Angela Haynes 6-4, 6-0.
In the men's doubles, Mahesh Bhupathi/ Xavier Malisse pair had lost to Leos Friedl/ Mikhail Youzhny in straight sets 4-6, 4-6. The 6th seeded pair of Leander Paes/ Martin Damm had an easy outing against Petr Pala/ Robin Vik with a straight sets victory 6-1, 6-2.
However in the mixed doubles, the 3rd seeds Leander/ Samantha Stosur had lost in the first round to unseeded Max Mirnyi/ Victoria Azarenka 6-3, 2-6, [5-10]. Mahesh has not entered the mixed doubles event. Sania is in the mixed doubles with Pavel Vizner.
