Design logo for Singapore Youth Olympic Games

Singapore Youth Olympic Games (YOG) Logo CompetitionSingapore will be hosting the first ever Youth Olympic Games (YOG) in 2010. About 3500 athletes from around the world are expected to arrive in Singapore to compete in the spirit of Excellence, Friendship and Respect. YOG will be an Olympic Games for 14-18 year old athletes.

Design the Logo
You can be part of the Singapore Youth Olympic Games (YOG), to be held in 2010, by designing the logo. The competition is open to everyone, regardless of the nationality or design experience. Please take note that professional organizations are not permitted to take part in this competition but their employees may participate in the competition in their personal capacity. Group submissions are also not allowed.

Logo Themes
The logo should cover three broad themes:
  1. Youthful spirit
  2. Values of Olympism and
  3. The Singapore identity

Essential elements in the logo
The Singapore 2010 logo should include the following 4 elements:
  1. A distinctive element
  2. The word mark "Singapore 2010"
  3. The Olympic symbol (the five rings)
  4. The word mark "Youth Olympic Games"

Competition Categories
Participants can take part in one of the following categories:
  1. Youth category (18 years and below)
  2. Open category

Attractive Prizes
The creator of the Overall Best Design will win:
  • A chance to be one of the Torchbearers during the Torch Relay for the Singapore 2010 Games
  • A pair of exclusive tickets to the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Singapore 2010 Games
  • The ultra chic Olympic Edition Samsung SGH F480

Each Merit Prize Winner will win:
  • A pair of exclusive tickets to the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of Singapore 2010 Games
  • A Samsung voucher worth $200
